Hey everyone. Check out what I just found out from Danny Choo, just in time for the holidays too!
If you're lucky enough to live in Japan you may be even luckier and recieve a santa set included with your figma purchases. It comes with both a cape and a hat just like Mrs. Claus wears. Unfortunately, you don't get to choose which of the two hats you get, but on the plus-side, variety is the spice of life.
If you see a "Merry Christmas with figma" sticker on the box and you should recieve your santa set at the check out counter.
Has anybody gotten one of these sets? Are they high quality molds? How do they look?
Toy’s works is going to release the Busujima Saeko 1/8 PVC figure from the manga “Highschool of the Dead” serialized in Fujimi Shobo’s Monthly Dragon Age. It will be released in February 2009. It is Around 215mm tall, 7,600 yen.
What a coincidence, both Organic and Toy’s works announced that they’re going to release a figure from “Highschool of the Dead” for the beginning of next year. This is the second “Highschool of the Dead” figure by Toy’s works. Their first one was Miyamoto Rei and it was really great.
This Busujima Saeko is base on her “outfit” in Volume 2 of the manga (You can find the manga here). She looks hot doesn’t she? This figure looks stays really close to the original illustration. As Toy’s works always does, the limited production will come with interchangeable part for “Oppai-between-apron”.
New Line is going to released the Roberta 1/6 painted and assembled cold cast garage kit from the manga/anime “Black Lagoon”. It will be released in December 2008. It's around 300mm tall, 16,800 yen.
Griffon Enterprises is going to release the Nagato Yuki Lolita Ver. 1/7 PVC figure from the light novel/anime “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya”. It will be released in January 2009. It's around 245mm tall, 9,500 yen.
Because Griffon released the gothic Haruhi and Mikuru already, I know gothic Yuki is coming. Based on the illustration below, Griffon made all three of them really nicely. I like the Haruhi one the most.
As for the figure, Griffon did it really well. Usually the figure can’t keep up with the original illustration at all, but this Yuki's dress looks so much better than the illustration!
Good Smile Company is going to release the Konjiki No Yami (Golden Darkness) 1/8 PVC figure frome manga/anime “To LoveRu -Trouble-". It will be released in March 2009. It's around 210mm tall including the base, 6,500 yen.
Lilics Art Storm Co., Ltd. is going to release the Masamune Shirow Character series: Vol. 1 Juliona Trans 1/6 PVC figure from the Masamune Shirow poster book “Wild Wet West”. Will be released in February 2009. Around 220mm tall, 7,800 yen.
The sculptor is G.O (Cerberus Project), and for only 7,800 yen, this Juliona Trans 1/6 PVC figure is a really good deal!!!! (Oo. For those who like Masamune Shirow (the creator for Ghost in the Shell), This one is A MUST get. =D
——Description from GSC——
A wild and sexy wanderer.
Based on an illustration drawn by popular artist Masamune Shirow in his poster book “Wild Wet West”, Cerberus Project has brought his illustration to life with this sexy figure! Every fine detail from the original illustration has been beautifully sculpted into the figure - from her proportions, her facial expression and her radiant skin to her fingertips that seem ready to fire her gun at any moment.
As an additional extra, a special card of the original illustration is included.
Alter is going to release the Shigure Asa 1/8 PVC figure frome the eroge/anime “SHUFFLE! Memories”. It will be released sometime this November, 2008. It is around 210mm tall, 7,140 yen.

I've been perousing the NekoMagic coverage of the event and want to share with all of you my top picks:
Griffon Enterprises is going to release the Pastel Ink 1/7 PVC figure from the English learning book/anime “Moetan”. Will be released in December 2009. Around 165mm tall, 6,800 yen. This figure looks good. The pose is nice, really sexy. The duck costume is really well done, the wrinkle on the white sukumizu is a really nice touch. I only watched couple episodes of the Moetan anime, and I find that it’s soooo funny. The Moetan corner is crazy, I ROFL literly. Highly recommended you watch the fan made one that I posted below. And the Moetan English book, LOL, it is targeted for Otaku and with lot of Engrish. I don’t know how to say it, I think my English in grade 6 was better than that. XD
